Why Mums can still wear lingerie

When we become a mum, there are many parts of our lives that change. We adapt to new routines, find simpler ways to do things and get into the swing of looking after more than just ourselves. At times we let slip the looking after ourselves. There may be days without showers, regrowth that hasn’t been attended to and the days of wearing make up may be few and far between. However, this doesn’t have to be the case and there is a lot of your old life you can continue with once you are a mum. There are even things we think that we can't do as a mum. One of which is wearing lingerie.

Many women who have become mums think that they can no longer wear lingerie. Sometimes it is because they don’t think they can pull it off anymore. Other times it is because they think that it is simply something a mum doesn’t do.

This isn’t the case! Mums can definitely wear lingerie and for a matter of fact, they SHOULD. Find out why below.

It’s something for them

As a mother, our lives seem to revolve around our children and our families. This is perfectly normal to feel like this. But it doesn’t mean that you should let go of who you are or stop focusing on yourself. It is important to have something that is just for you and that makes you feel good. Wearing lingerie as a mum doesn’t mean that you are any less of a mum, it just means that you are giving yourself something special for you. Even if you are spending your days at home with your babies, you can still put on a sexy piece of lingerie under your trackies and rock it!

It boosts confidence

If you were a very confident person before you became a mum, it doesn’t mean that you will be afterwards. Your whole life has been turned upside down and you are now trying to learn new things and adapt to a new way of life. This can bring with it a lack of confidence, feelings of unease and sometimes depression. Lingerie is a small way that you can help to boost your confidence and gain back the feeling of strength and power that you once had.

Reminds you that you are beautiful

A lot of women, after having babies feel unhappy with their bodies. This is completely normal. Your body goes through so many changes turning pregnancy and it is likely that it will not be exactly how it looked before you fell pregnant. This can upset women quite a lot. By getting out your lingerie and putting it on, you can change how you feel. Once you see yourself in the mirror looking sexy, you will start to feel it as well. You can find pieces that cover the areas you are not entirely happy with and still boast sex appeal and confidence.

It is a way to connect with your partner

The busy mum schedule takes up a lot of our time and it can be exhausting. There will be times when both you and your partner are too tired to be intimate due to your busy lives. There will even be times when you are just not in the mood. This can go on for months at a time due to being so busy and consumed with your life as a mother. However, adding lingerie into the bedroom can help bring a spark back into the equation and get you and your partner back on track. It can help you to feel confident in the bedroom and take control. It can give you back that connection to your partner that you may have been missing.

Lingerie is not something that is designed for just young, thin girls. There are plenty of different styles that suit all body shapes and sizes.

Why not splurge a little and get yourself some new lingerie? It will make you feel like a new woman. And never should you think that you can not do things, simply because you are a mum.
