The most common lingerie misfits people have

Choosing your lingerie should be a fun task. You get to look at all the different colours, styles and designs. You choose items that suit you and make you feel good about yourself. However, at times it can be difficult to know which items to choose and whether or not you are making a good decision.
Sometimes we will make the decision, purchase the item and then get home only to realise its not the best fit or that you don’t actually like it. This could be as simple as you have changed your mind on the item, or it could be that it doesn’t fit well. Check out below some of the most common lingerie misfits that people have.
Not wearing the correct bra size
Even if a bra feels right on you, it doesn’t actually mean that it is the right size for you. There are two aspects to a bra that you need to pay attention to when buying. Firstly is the size of the bra. This is the number that you will find on the tag. Most people will simply buy the same size as their shirt size. In some cases, this works, however not all the time. The second aspect is the cup size. It is important to ensure that you are getting the correct cup size for support and well being of the ladies.
An ill-fitted bra can cause support issues, back pain and shoulder pain. It is a good idea to have a regular fitting with a bra fitter to ensure you are buying the right size for your body.
Incorrect washing
Do you simply throw your lingerie in with the rest of the washing and hope for the best? We all do at times. But it is recommended to wash your lingerie in a laundry back to avoid damage being done to it. Spin cycles on your washing machine can alter the shape of wires in your lingerie and also cause damage to delicate pieces of lingerie. Also when washing your bras, clip them up to avoid the clasps getting caught on other garments.
Don’t overfill your laundry bag because this will prevent your items from adequate cleaning.
Not storing correctly
Bras in particular need to be able to keep their shape. While your bras are still damp, mould them back into shape. This will help them to dry in the correct shape and not become distorted.
Once it is time to put your clean washing away, make sure your bras are still in their correct shape when they go into the drawers. Clipping them up or folding the clasps into the inside of the bra will help them from attaching to other items in the drawer and causing rips or tears.
Not washing often enough
This one is mainly for the bras, as we are pretty sure you will wash your underwear after each wash.
We all have our favourite bras that we want to live in. But it is important to make sure you are washing regularly and not wearing the same piece for days on end. Not only is it more hygienic to be wearing a clean bra, but it also helps to prolong the life of your pieces. If they are sitting with sweat and body oils on them for too long between washing it can cause them to deteriorate.
Not having enough / or having too many
Believe it or not, this is a big misfit that many people have. By owning too few pieces of lingerie it can cause you to not only run out (if you are behind on the washing) but it can also age your pieces too quickly. If you only have a few pieces in rotation they will deteriorate quickly due to the amount of use.
This also works the other way when you have too many pieces of lingerie. Sitting in a drawer unused for long periods of time is not good for the elastics or material.
You need to find that middle balance.
Reading this, you may think it is all too hard. However, these are simple problems that can all be easily fixed.
So why not go out, get fitted properly and spoil yourself with a few new, sexy pieces of lingerie.
